The GO 3 water purifying cap is a cap that screws onto a Nalgene 1Liter water bottle. Users fill the bottle with water, invert it, and then treat the water, in the bottle, so that it is safer to drink.
The Lifestraw is a device which does not carry water, rather it is used like a straw to suck water through, and it filters the water before it reaches the user's mouth.
All filter users should have a way to additionally purify the water. This is because many filters cannot remove disease causing virus particles, which are too small for most filters. We recommend this even with "ultra-filters", such as the lifestraw. they can remove viruses, however you cannot know when they have been compromised.
(for instance in Wisconsin, there is a chance that a filter with water in it could freeze, breaking that ultrafilter barrier.) At present, our ozone travel / camping water purification devices do not filter the water, so if it is really dirty, you will want to pair them with a filter. However nothing is better at killing harmful micro-organisms, than ozone. It is far more powerful than chlorine, yet it quickly reverts to oxygen. Ozone also improves the taste and smell of water. Also when the water is still full of ozone it can be used to clean other things, a skinned knee, foods with potential bacterial contamination, etc. Here's a summary graphic:
