The life expectancy of the ozone generator in the Ozo-Pod line will be between 1,000 and 3,000 hours. Since most users only operate it for 3-10 minutes at a time, this will equate to thousands of uses. The units do not "need to be turned off". However, over time the electrodes may develop a build up of minerals, like a coffee maker would. If you are planning on heavy usage, it would be advisable to try to use "softened water" to prevent this build up. It would also be prudent to have a service time built in to check the status of the units. The units are "serviced" by immersing them in a vinegar/water solution to dissolve the build up away.

For the GO-3, it will last for about 1,000 hours of use. Since you only use it for 3 minutes at a time, this translates into a long long long life. You can operate it continuously until the battery is exhausted. Each charge will deliver 50 uses (we have tested it to 70 but prefer to understate the capability)
